Ravitalization of the Ghodasar Lake Precinct, Ahmedabad.

Project Description

 The Ghodasar Lake precinct would serve as an important recreational space for the south-eastern part of the city of Ahmedabad and the immediate neighborhood. The project would include both open and built spaces to support such an use. The project will be conceived such that its operation would be with AMC and maintenance would be with a contractor. The main features of the project shall include:

  1. The lake (With water to its full capacity and partially filled).
  2. The lake edge/promenade.
  3. Landscaped garden.
  4. Amphitheatre.
  5. Sitting/gathering spaces.
  6. Children play areas.
  7. ruksh Vatika (tree plantation)
  8. Public amenities and parking.

 The project will address the needs of the community like passive recreation, gathering spaces, play areas, improved health, entertainment etc.

Project Description

Our institute research team will be working on following aspects.:-

  • Will identify and improve upon the existing games and will develop prototypes for existing games in consultation with GEDA.
  • Will develop additional five games and will prepare prototype of these newly develop games in consultation with GEDA.
  • Will conduct two rounds of testing of all the games with the school children and will modify the games after the test runs.
  • Will submit a detailed report, prototypes and their manual as playing instructions along with an estimate of the budget to mass produce them and their specifications to GEDA after the completion of this exercise.
