CRDF, CEPT University’s multidisciplinary think-do-tank, undertakes research, advisory, and capacity-building projects to address challenges in the built environment. Through CRDF, faculty contribute academic and professional expertise to real-world contexts. Projects engage a range of external stakeholders, including government bodies, public sector agencies, NGOs, communities, and businesses. The aim is to improve the quality of life in urban and rural settings through informed, context-specific solutions.

Archives

CEPT Archives is one of the first initiatives in the country set up to archive information related to architecture, planning, design, and allied disciplines in India, broadly based under the subjects of built environment, design, and culture. Dedicated to collecting, recording and disseminating information, the Archive actively engages in different archival activities and the work archived here, is open to students, scholars, professionals, curators, and other users for reference and research.

Conferences

CEPT University hosts impactful conferences that foster interdisciplinary dialogue and advance research in urban planning, design, and infrastructure. Organized by the CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) and academic faculties, these events address critical challenges facing India’s cities. Notable conferences include the Urban Design and Urban Planning conferences held in May 2024, focusing on implementing urban design and managing rapid urban growth. The Urban Transport conference in November 2024 explored technology trends to enhance urban mobility. In February 2025, CEPT hosted the Global South Academic Conclave on WASH and Climate, bringing experts from 30 countries together. These conferences support CEPT’s mission to promote sustainable urban development through knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The Lilavati Lalbhai Library, supports teaching, learning, scholarship, and research. It houses over 60,000 resources, including books, journals, theses, and digital materials focused on architecture and the built environment. Equipped with ICT resources, high-speed Wi-Fi, and diverse reading spaces, it offers an environment conducive to academic engagement. Flexible study areas and upgraded technology support online access and digital learning. The library also extends its services to over 1,000 professionals and institutions annually from across the country.

CEPT University Press promotes indigenous writing and research on human habitat and related subjects as architecture, planning, interior design, conservation, technology and management.

Set up to open up ideas and debate, our titles explore new paths of knowledge and contribute to theoretical formulation, pedagogy and practice of architecture and design of habitats.CEPT University Press seeks to publish works that are meaningful and relevant to academia and profession, and promote wider understanding and appreciation of architecture, design and urban issues. We would also promote understanding of Asian planning, design, technology and construction.
