CEPT Alum Receives Prestigious Willem Schermerhorn Award

Dr. Anjana Vyas (FP PG 85), an alumna of CEPT University’s Faculty of Planning, has become the first Indian to receive the prestigious Willem Schermerhorn Award. She received the honour at the XXV ISPRS Congress, held in Toronto from 4 – 11 July 2026.

Presented once every four years by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) and sponsored by Geo-Information Netherlands, the award recognises an ISPRS Working Group Officer for outstanding leadership in organising international scientific meetings and symposia.

Dr. Vyas was honoured for her leadership and contributions to international scientific and technical activities, particularly in advancing geospatial education and fostering global collaboration in photogrammetry and remote sensing.

She previously served as Professor and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Technology at CEPT University and is also a recipient of the prestigious Prof. Satish Dhawan Award for her outstanding contributions to remote sensing science, technology and applications.
