CEPT Alumni Win Gold and Silver at SILA Student Design Awards 2025

Alumni of the Master of Architecture (Landscape Architecture) program at the Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University have received Gold and Silver recognitions at the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) Student Design Awards 2025. The international awards celebrate innovative, research-driven student design work and mark the 40th year of recognising emerging talent in landscape architecture. The winning projects, developed through CEPT design studios, reflect strong ecological thinking, contextual analysis, and design inquiry within landscape architecture education.

The SILA Student Design Awards 2025 marked the 40th anniversary of the award, continuing its longstanding mission to nurture emerging landscape architecture talent and promote excellence in landscape architecture education in Singapore and internationally. The awards celebrate innovative, research-led student design work and encourage deeper engagement with environmental and landscape challenges.

At the 2025 edition, alumni from CEPT University’s Master of Architecture (Landscape Architecture) program received multiple recognitions for projects developed in the design studios, Designed Ecologies (Spring 2024) and Sculpting Spaces (Spring 2025). The awarded projects demonstrated strong analytical frameworks, contextual understanding, and design approaches addressing ecological and spatial conditions.

Alumni Bhaskar K.A, Namratha D V, and Rutuja Parakh (FA PG 22) from the Designed Ecologies studio and Venu Gopal Koranne (FA PG23) from the Sculpting Spaces studio were recognised in the University Category of the awards. The projects received Gold and Silver recognitions across the categories of Outstanding Contextual Analysis and Investigations and Planting Design Excellence.

The studios were guided by Dr. Deepa Maheshwari (Designed Ecologies, Spring 2024) and Priyal Shah and Sankalpa Patel (Sculpting Spaces, Spring 2025). The recognition highlights the program’s emphasis on critical landscape inquiry, ecological sensitivity, and research-based design approaches within landscape architecture education.
