CEPT Student’s Work ‘Exterior Wall Painting Robot’ Registered as IPR

In general, manual wall painting often involves working at heights, which poses significant safety hazards for humans.
The Exterior walls and/or Façade Painting Robot is a revolutionary tool that simplifies the process of painting a building’s exterior. Its innovative design allows for quick and easy application of paint, reducing the time and effort required for traditional painting methods.
Additionally, the Robot is equipped with a specialized nozzle that ensures even coverage of paint, resulting in a professional-looking finish every time.

Functionality: The machine itself has a single axis(horizontal motion) carrying the paint gun. This horizontal length can be modified depending on the size of the wall. For vertical motion, there is a motorized pulley based arrangement, placed on the top of the building.
The movement pattern it uses is Zig-Zag. It primarily identifies the home position and then moves from one end to other end in the horizontal direction, then it moves in the vertical direction to the next position and repeats the horizontal movement. Likewise, it can cover an area of the external wall/façade. All movements are pre-defined in the coding based on the dimension of the walls.
In about 90 seconds, the machine paints 10 square feet, when a labor would typically need 210 — 230 seconds to paint the same space. This machine’s primary benefit is that it uses less material as it only needs one coat of paint to complete the task.
