Dr. Subhrangsu Goswami Appointed the New Dean of CEPT Professional Programs

Dr. Subhrangsu Goswami has been appointed as the new Dean of the CEPT Professional Programs (CPP). He will officially take charge as Dean from 1st July 2026.

The search for a new Dean, CEPT Professional Programs, was initiated in March 2026, and nominations were invited from CEPT Professors, as well as from a small pool of external professionals. A search committee was constituted comprising Dr. Tridip Suhrud (Chair), Brinda Somaya, Shimul Javeri, Chirayu Bhatt and Priya Singh. Based on the recommendation of the committee, Dr. Goswami was unanimously appointed as the Dean of the CEPT Professional Programs.

Dr. Goswami has been serving as the Head, CEPT Professional Programs (CPP) since 2022, and has played a key role in shaping and strengthening this initiative. Under his leadership, CPP has evolved into a significant platform for engaging with professionals, government agencies, and organizations through high-quality capacity-building programs. In his new role as Dean, he will further expand and deepen the University’s professional education initiatives.

Dr Goswami joined CEPT University in 2009 as an Assistant Professor of Planning and has since served in a wide range of academic, research, and institutional roles. 

He established the Admissions Office in 2014 and served as its first Head for five years. He later served as the Head of the Strategic Initiatives Office (SIO) for four years, leading efforts related to national and state rankings, including GSIRF and NIRF, as well as initiatives on design and patent registrations. He also played an important role in advancing CEPT’s engagement with the Government of Gujarat’s Centre of Excellence initiative and securing recognition as a Centre of Excellence in Urban Planning and Design by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. Later, he also served as the Asst. Provost (Academics). 

Dr. Goswami holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning from CEPT University. He completed his PhD in Public Policy and Administration from PDEU, Gandhinagar, and has recently completed a one-year long Senior Management Programme (Blended Learning) from IIM Ahmedabad.
