Designed as an intensive five-day training, the program focused on emerging frameworks, tools, and global best practices in creative urban redevelopment, with a strong emphasis on Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), heritage-sensitive planning, and innovative financing mechanisms. The curriculum combined expert-led sessions, field visits across Ahmedabad, and interactive group exercises to provide participants with hands-on exposure to real-world redevelopment challenges.

Notably, this initiative is the first program of its kind in India aligned with the priorities of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), GoI. It reflects the growing national focus on sustainable, inclusive, and economically vibrant urban transformation.
The program featured distinguished experts from academia, government, and industry, including senior planners, policymakers, and international practitioners. Key highlights included sessions on Government of India schemes for redevelopment, global case studies from Japan and other regions, and discussions on mobilising private capital and municipal finance instruments such as green and municipal bonds. Field visits to redevelopment sites, including the Gandhi Ashram area and heritage precincts of Ahmedabad, provided participants with direct insights into implementation strategies.

By bridging policy, practice, and innovation, the program marks a significant step in strengthening institutional capacity for urban redevelopment in India. CEPT Professional Program (CPP), CEPT University continues to position itself at the forefront of professional education and thought leadership in the urban development sector.
