About Pranav Meghani

Pranav is an architect and urban designer with degrees from the Indubhai Parekh School of Architecture, Rajkot, and CEPT University, Ahmedabad, specializing in Urban Design. He worked with Groundwork Architecture from 2014 to 2021, leading architectural, urban design, and research projects across scales. In 2021, he founded Studio Ochre Yellow, a research-driven architecture and urban design practice focused on context-responsive and socially engaged work. Alongside practice, Pranav has been involved in academics at CEPT University, serving as Visiting Faculty from 2020 to 2023 and joining as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Foundation Program in 2023. His work also includes research on sustainable housing for the urban poor, in collaboration with UCL and CARBSE.
Pranav is an architect and urban designer with an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the Indubhai Parekh School of Architecture, Rajkot, and a Master’s degree in Architecture with a specialization in Urban Design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. His academic background has equipped him with a strong grounding in architectural design, urban theory, and research-led practice. Between 2014 and 2021, he worked with Groundwork Architecture, Ahmedabad, where he contributed significantly to the firm’s architectural and urban design portfolio. During this period, he led projects of varying scales, guiding them from conceptual stages through detailed design to on-site execution. He also headed urban research and design initiatives at the firm, addressing complex urban issues through analytical studies, design frameworks, and policy-oriented research. In 2021, Pranav established Studio Ochre Yellow, an architecture, urban design, and research-based practice. The studio focuses on context-responsive and socially engaged design, integrating research with practice to address contemporary architectural and urban challenges. Alongside professional practice, Pranav has been actively involved in academia. He served as a Visiting Faculty at CEPT University from 2020 to 2023, engaging with students through design studios and research-oriented courses. In 2023, he joined CEPT University as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Foundation Program. In parallel with his teaching and practice, Pranav has been engaged in research in the field of sustainable housing for the urban poor. He has collaborated with University College London (UCL) and CARBSE on research initiatives that contribute to the discourse on inclusive, sustainable, and scalable housing solutions in rapidly urbanizing contexts.
