He graduated from the Academy of Architecture in Mumbai and then trained as an Industrial Designer (Furniture Design) at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. He attended the Post Graduate Program in Modern and Contemporary Indian Art History at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum in Mumbai.
Saleem Bhatri is a Professor and the Dean at the Faculty of Design. As a designer-educator, he bridges practice and academia, and is focussed on shaping a contemporary model of design education in India. He is committed to ethical leadership, transformative education, and institutional success. Saleem brings more than two decades of integrated experience across Industrial Design, Architecture, and Design education and has held leadership roles in multiple organisations. As the Design Head at Reliance Brands, Mumbai, he worked on international product brands such as Muji, Hamleys, amongst others. He is currently a Partner and Principal at Case Design, an architectural and design practice based in Mumbai. He is also the Co-Founder of Casegoods, an international contemporary design brand. His furniture is in the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
