About Shri Sanjay Lalbhai

Sanjay Lalbhai is the Chairman and Managing Director of Arvind Limited, a US$2 billion Indian conglomerate and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of denim and fine woven fabrics. Over more than four decades, he has led Arvind’s transformation from a traditional textile mill into a diversified, innovation-driven enterprise.

He is deeply committed to education and institution building, serving as President of Ahmedabad Education Society and of Ahmedabad University, and holding key governance roles at CEPT University and other academic institutions. He also chairs the Council of Administration of the Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) and guides Arvind’s CSR work through SHARDA Trust and related initiatives.

A passionate supporter of art and culture, Sanjay Lalbhai and his wife Jayshree converted their ancestral home “Lalbaug” in Shahibaug into the Kasturbhai Lalbhai Museum, sharing their modern and contemporary art collection alongside historic works from the family legacy. Together, they have also been closely involved with the Arvind Indigo Museum, which focuses on indigo, craft traditions, and contemporary art.
