About Yatin Mistry

Yatin Mistry is a skilled craftsman whose work bridges traditional craftsmanship and architectural precision. A second-generation artisan, he inherited his foundational skills in carpentry and model making from his father, continuing a family tradition of craftsmanship that he has refined over a career spanning more than 32 years.

Professional Journey

Yatin joined the CEPT Workshop in 2014 and has since become an integral part of the University’s culture of making. Prior to joining CEPT, he gained extensive experience working with leading architects, model makers, and design professionals in Ahmedabad.

His professional journey includes:

Foundational training: Began his career with Micky Desai, followed by a tenure with H.C. Patel.
Architectural model making: Worked for four years at Pray-art under Prabhudutt Gajjar and six years at Skeleton with Dashrath Gajjar, developing expertise in architectural model making.
Consultancy and collaboration: Spent three years with Arvind Chauhan Associates, contributing to a range of architectural projects.
Independent practice: Worked as a freelance model maker and carpenter for nine years, collaborating on projects with the Design Innovation and Craft Resource Centre (DICRC), among other clients.

His knowledge and hands-on approach continue to support teaching, research, and fabrication activities at CEPT University.
