The Program FAQ section compiles important information regarding admissions, eligibility, program duration, curriculum framework, studio requirements, assessment methods, credit structure, fee details, and support services. It is designed to guide prospective learners and ensure transparency in all academic processes.

A: The following titles will be awarded to admitted candidates - Master of Urban Design (MUD)

A: FP PG programs are approved by UGC. All the programs are in place since years, oldest starting from 1972. These programs have evolved over a period of time, keeping pace with the changing urban development paradigms. CEPT has been ahead of time in recognizing the need of specialists within the planning domain, according to the current needs and has restructured and renamed its ongoing programs to build specialized capacities amongst the graduating planners. Since decades, CEPT planners have been well received and highly appreciated by the corporates, NGOs, government organizations, research, academia, development sector to name a few.

A: No. However, CEPT University allows you to take certain credits in any other programme offered by other Faculties (i.e. Architecture, Management, Design & Technology) at the University

A: No

A: Yes. If you are applying for Masters in Urban Design you must submit the portfolio of creative work as per instructions in application form. You are required to submit hard copy and soft copy of the portfolio. You can choose to upload your CV (curriculum vitae).

A: The references can be from academic and/or non-academic sources. In case of MUD candidates- who are currently employed, one of the references should be from the current employers.

A: GATE exam is eligible for admission to MUD program. If you have given GATE exam you are not required to give the CEPT PG test.

A: GATE exam is only considered for admission, and no GATE scholarship is given to the applicant.

A: GATE is eligible for admission at FP and is mandatory. If you have given GATE exam then you are not required to give the CEPT PG test.

A: The CEPT PG Test will be online from your home. It will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) related to Verbal English, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematical Ability.

A: Yes. CEPT University has a Career and Alumni Services for proactively assisting students. Faculty of Planning also has a very active placement coordination committee and has track record of more than four decades of campus placements.

A: Masters’ programs at Faculty of Planning are designed to prepare young professionals in taking various positions as consultants in private and corporate sector, in government departments and agencies, in city planning and urban development authorities, in public housing agencies, in non-government organizations working for informal settlements, private real estate agencies, research agencies, academic institutes and think tanks. A: SWS - Summer Winter School. The Summer and Winter Schools (SWS) at CEPT University are opportunities for students to gain valuable learning experience that goes far beyond the structured classrooms.

A: For those applying for MUD, the submission of portfolio is compulsory as per instructions in application form Additionally, SOP is required to be submitted as asked in application form. The portfolio is of A4 size pages of design content.

A: For those applying for MUD, the portfolio may contain up to a maximum of 12 numbers of A4 size pages of design content. The Portfolio must be saved as a single file in PDF format and submitted. The file size should not be more than 15MB. Hard copy of the same portfolio also has to be sent by the application deadline as per instruction in application form.

A: Referees are  required to submit the online reference form, including a reference letter, to assist the University in making a full assessment of each applicant’s academic record and abilities. The deadline to submit the reference / recommendation letter is 3 days after the application deadline. A link is shared with the referee after you submit your application.

A: No. The work (Professional) experience is counted as the full time experience gained after completion of qualifying degree.

A: Students graduating from FP find employment in a wide range of institutions and organizations depending on the interest area that the student wants to pursue. Most students graduating from FP go to work in Consultancies, MNC’s, Government departments (state government and central government), Municipal corporations, Development authorities, Research organizations, Academic institutions, NGO’s and other similar institutions.

There are a variety of companies hiring students from FP.

A: Students receive very competitive salaries as per the prevalent market norms for planners. The package offered varies as per each organization and the student. Factors like the student’s calibre, subject knowledge, commitment, interest area, soft skills, location etc. are all considered for offer of package.
