New CEPT Identity Unveiled

The new CEPT Identity was introduced on 17th October 2014 at 4 pm in Piraji Sagara Basement at CEPT University, with an exhibition depicting it.The exhibition will be on from 17th to 19th October, 6 pm.

The whole range of applications was also on display. Students and staff attended and were seen checking all the letterheads etc. T Shirts, Shoulder bags and Coffee mugs with the identity mark were also on display and sale. A neatly printed Diwali card with the new identity was placed prominently for all to pick up with greeting for the festive season.

Introducing the need for a new identity on the occasion, Dr. Bimal Patel, President of CEPT University mentioned that - "The previous logo was incompatible with the new digital media uses of the identity. The previous logo was designed as a poster and in a miniaturized format, it was barely visible. In light of the renewal efforts currently underway at CEPT, it was important to have an identity that reflects not just the history of the institution but also its future aspirations." Hence, it was decided that a new identity should be created for the University.

A logo design competition was held in January 2014 which remained inconclusive as the jury panel did not find any of the entries suitable to be adopted as the new CEPT Identity. Subsequently, a committee comprising Walter D'souza, Krishna Shastri, Pratyush Shankar, and Dr. Bimal Patel, was formed to select a professional consultant and provide guidance to the selected consultant in developing a new identity for CEPT.

Ram Sinam (Wari Watai, Bangalore) was selected in May 2014 to design the new CEPT Identity. Ram is an alumnus of NID and has spent the early years of his professional career in Ahmedabad. Ram was asked many questions especially by students in attendance.
