Teaching and Learning Center
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) was formed to inspire, support and strengthen new directions in pedagogy and learning at CEPT. The role of TLC is that of a facilitator and a collaborator. It functions under the guidance of the Academic Director.
The TLC also supports the functioning of the Course Approval Committee as its secretariat.
The TLC facilitates:
- Preparation for studio units and courses through structured workshops
- Sharing of good teaching practices among faculty members
- Innovation in teaching methods by partnering with faculty members
- Faculty development through online learning resources and peer learning
In order to meet the above objectives, the TLC undertakes the following functions:
- Will work with the Deans and Academic offices to Identify and reach out to potential tutors; create a roster of highly engaged tutors to teach at CEPT.
- In consultation with the Deans and Academic offices, create frameworks for improving effectiveness of teaching and supportive templates i.e., studio unit proposals, unit briefs and student presentations
- Support the Course Approval Committee* to review, approve and improve unit proposals
- Support the studio presentations, student interviews and allotment process managed by Program Chairs and Faculty Admins
- Identify and enlist potential teaching assistants or units & courses (TAs are selected by unit tutors and appointment is done through USO)
- Support the Board of Reviewers (set up by Academic Director) to review studio units and courses, and share this feedback with unit tutors
- Organize periodic meetings with tutors to facilitate shared learning
- Coordinate with different offices within CEPT to facilitate logistics for new units and tutors
- Facilitate workshops for faculty development and peer learning
- Organize orientation workshops for teaching assistants and associates
