Academic structure
The new pedagogy is divided into modules of studios, lectures and cross-disciplinary electives and summer winter schools. The studios are exploratory environments for students that synthesize the learning from different courses into a practical design framework. Lectures provide students with the theoretical constructs within which landscape operates and cross-disciplinary electives allow them to explore landscape from various perspectives.

Studios
Each studio is directed by a single or dual tutors for a class strength ranging from 12-16 students. Based on the studio topic, monthly input sessions are arranged from specific subject experts, visiting professionals, and faculty members from other programs at CEPT University viz. urban design, conservation, planning, and technology. All the exercises are independently reviewed by a subject expert/s in the midterm and final jury. The final review comments are incorporated in the portfolio which is then evaluated by a separate independent panel.

Mandatory courses
The landscape lecture courses have a broad spectrum of theory and technology base and have been redistributed over all four semesters in equal weightages. The lecture courses are usually offered by single faculty with some expert external sessions. To create a wider awareness of the subject, some lecture courses are curated with multiple individual lectures from a pool of varied subjects.

Electives
CEPT electives allow students and faculty members to explore new landscape subjects, cross-disciplinary subjects, and explore new teaching methods. Students can choose electives and/ or Summer-Winter Schools from courses offered across the University.

Monsoon Semester

Foundation Studio: Semester I - The foundation studio focuses on the ways of seeing, recording, and representing landscapes. The studio takes on this journey to study a particular landscape in depth and interpret it through creative drawings.

Advanced Exploration studios: Semester III - The advanced studios give students an option to choose according to their area of interest. The primary objective is to foster independent decision making that allow students to develop individual design processes based on specific site responses and detail them.

Spring Semester

Vertical Studios: Semester II and IV - The vertical studios allow all the students to work as peers and learn from a broad range of studio topics dealing with cultural, social, and environmental issues across multiple scales.
