Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics

The Fluid Mechanics laboratory consists of several experimental setups for understanding and verifying the basic laws of fluid mechanics and few flow measuring devices. It provides supports to undergraduate teaching so that students have the opportunity to see by themselves the essential fluid mechanics principles, and to verify the applicability of various assumptions, models and analysis methods. Following experiments are being carried out under Fluid Mechanics Laboratory.

  • Reynolds Number
  • Bernoulli’s Theorem
  • Venturi meter
  • Hydraulic coefficient of an Orifice
  • Hydraulic coefficient of a Mouthpiece
  • Triangular (V) notch
  • Losses in Pipe fittings
  • Friction (Major Loss) in closed conduits (Pipes)
