Student Services Office, CEPT University recently organized a Pre-Admission Open House on its Campus on 26th April, 2014. The event was held to facilitate prospective students in exploring the various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs offered at CEPT U for their career options. The main features of the Open House included Presentations from each Faculty, Admissions-Information desk, Counseling desks, Campus Tour and Interactive Session with current students. The event received an overwhelming response from prospective students, not only from Ahmedabad or Gujarat, but also from Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. More than 500 prospective students and parents - attended the Open House.
The Presentations from each Faculty were aimed to provide prospective students some insights into the nature of the profession, both in the academic domain as well as in practice. It explained the pedagogic methods used to build the required intellectual and skill-based strengths for both these domains. The objective was to help students align their personal strengths and interests to the academic disciplines offered at CEPT, thereby help them in making the right career choices.
After the Academic Presentations guest students were provided with the Admission information at the Admission Information Desk. They were also able to resolve their queries related to the areas of their interest with the help of faculty members of the respective academic programs at the Academic Counseling Desks. These interactions helped students gain an understanding about the structure of the programs, credit system, course work, etc.
Besides the Academic and Admissions related information, one of the key features of the Pre-Admission Open House was a guided tour of the CEPT campus, including visit to the studios, labs and workshops on campus. This gave the visitors an opportunity to experience the architecture of the different campus buildings. It also provided them with a good idea of the students' life and work on campus and the resources available them. This was further complemented by an Interactive Session with CEPT students, where the students shared their experiences of campus life and study at CEPT University.
An Exhibition of Students' Work gave the guests insights into the type of courses taught, and the nature of expertise that students build at CEPT, while the Career & Alumni Services' desk showcased professional work of CEPT alumni, and also gave counseling on work prospects in the different professions such as Architecture, Design, Planning, Construction, and Management.
