Multiple Modernities: Bruno Souza and the Crafting of a Regional Modern Identity

CEPT Archives in collaboration with Goa Collective and Goa College of Architecture is conducting this talk titled ​“Mutiple Modernities” marking the centenary of architect Bruno Dias Souza (1925 – 2025), which is for the exhibition ​“Celebrating 100 Years of Bruno Souza” at CEPT University from 10^th – 14^th March, 2026. It brings together material from the CEPT Archives collection of Souza and layers it with contemporary perspectives on his work, to gain a deeper understanding into his life and work. 

Looking at Souza’s practice, this discussion will reflect on how modern architecture was shaped through regional climates, cultures, and political contexts, challenging the idea of a singular modernist narrative.
