Starting September 2015, the School of Interior Design (SID), Faculty of Design began a yearlong celebration to mark the 25th year of inception of SID. To mark this occasion Faculty of Design is organizing various activities in the year 2015-16. The activities began on September 2nd 2015 with an Inaugural Lecture and Foundation Day Celebrations. A series of activities are planned till 2nd September 2016.
The forthcoming activities will be four days long and are planned for December 2015. The idea is to bring together eminent personalities from various fields from both India and abroad to share their thoughts on varied aspects of Interior Design. As part of the larger activities, an International Seminar titled " Inside Future - Future Inside: Practice, Pedagogy and Perception of Interior Design" has been organized. The seminar will have various national and international speakers from Europe, America and Asia discussing the current issues and concerns in - Practice, Pedagogy and Perception in Interior Design. It will be attended by professionals, academicians, designers, architects and students from across India and the world. The event will special due to the occasion and because it will attract people from various diverse fields and discuss a large range of topics in interior design.
A number of exhibitions (alumni professional work, student academic work of last 25 years, winter school offered by SID alumni) have also been planned as part of the 25 years celebrations. The exhibition displays the professional work of alumni and showcases various fields of professional engagement. The student academic work section will showcase the last 25 years of academic work done by students at School of Interior Design, Faculty of Design.
