Constructions: Exhibition of Art & Architecture/ Process and Explorations by Percy Pithawala
Percy Pithawala's practice as an Architect, Artist, and an Academic is uniquely situated within the fluidity and confluence of ideas moving ceaselessly between the domains of Pedagogy, Art & Architecture.
Through this exhibition "CONSTRUCTIONS" he has attempted to analyze, critique, and document the ongoing influence of Art on his process of Architecture and Design making.
The exhibition displays his working methodology which relies inadvertently on borrowing ideas from the Art world and adopting them as points of departure to conceive highly personal and futuristic design solutions.
This uniquely creative approach has further enabled him to explore and conceive hybrid typologies evolving out of rising concern for rapidly challenging built and natural environments the world over.
His Top Prize-winning International Design Competition entry "Guggenheim Reimagined, New York City" and the Honorable Prize-winning entry for " Re-Designing the Spire of Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris" exhibited along with concept sketches and models clearly demonstrates his concern and proposes visions for the future.
Launch evening will be hosted by CEPT University preceded by Prof. Jay Thakkar- Head - Exhibitions, CEPT. Prof. Percy Pithawala will guide us through the exhibition. Also guest of honor will be Ruturaj Parikh is a founder-director at Matter, an interdisciplinary Architecture, Design, and Publishing studio.
