Highlights of the session:
The proposed talk strives to showcase the design and construction aspects of the world’s first fully demountable stadium - Stadium 974, Doha (FIFA World Cup 2022), that led it achieve high sustainability rating across Energy, Water, Structural Materials, Internal Environments and Culture. Reduced construction costs, build time and material waste, plus dipping of carbon dioxide emissions throughout the design and construction process will also be discussed.

Speaker: Mr. Shashi Narayanan, Associate, Senior Sustainability Manager, WSP – Middle East
Profile of the speaker:
Shashi is an RIBA registered architect specializing in green building and built environment sustainable design, who has over 25 years of experience all over the world. He received his B.A (Hons) in Architecture from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He received his Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture (RIBA Part II) from Oxford Brookes University, UK. He also received his Post Graduate Diploma in Built Resource Studies, Adaptive Reuse of Existing Buildings from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Shashi gained an early introduction to sustainable buildings during his time in India, while working with Padma Shri Laurie Bakers team in the Latur earthquake zone in Maharashtra.
This webinar is in association with IAStructE, for which a student chapter was established at FT, CEPT University in 2019, aiming to help students to reach out to professionals and bridge gaps between academics and industry-based practices in various fields of Structural Engineering.
