Amit Kaur

Assistant Professor

Dr. Amit Kaur is a social scientist-planner by profession. Having completed her Ph.D. from the IIT Kharagpur in the domain of Housing and Community Planning, she specializes her research in the field of Housing Planning & Policy, Quantitative Methods in Planning, GIS and its applications in Planning, Smart Cities and Sustainable and resilient communities. Presently she is working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Planning, CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She has been associated with different academic institutions including TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi and Dr D Y Patil School of Architecture, Pune where she has mentored students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Being awarded the Institute Post Doctoral Research Fellowship at IIT Delhi, she has also worked as a Post Doctoral Researcher prior to joining CEPT. Her teaching interests spans across teaching courses related to Urban Planning, Housing Finance, Housing Policy, Real Estate, Project Management, GIS and its applications in Planning, Research Methodology & Applications of Quantitative Techniques in Planning. She has also guided around 10 Master's Dissertation & Thesis from M Arch Environment Architecture at DYPSOA and M Tech UDM at TERI SAS. She also serves as a reviewer for International Journal of Housing Markets and Analysis (Emerald Publishing) and Journal of Housing and Built Environment (Springer Publishing).
