Dear Student,
We are pleased to announce that almost 500 students are graduating in the 14th Convocation of CEPT University. As the University grows both in stature and size, we are fine tuning the schedule in order to make the convocation a memorable event for you.
We have introduced a registration system for the convocation for better time and space management. Registration is mandatory for collecting the degree certificate. Do register even if you do not plan to attend the convocation ceremony. The last date for registration is 05th January 2020.
Convocation 2020 Instructions
Before The Event:
- Ensure that you have registered through this mail.
- The official dress for the convocation is-
- Male- Off white Kurta-pyjama
- Female- Off white Salwar Kameez/Sari
- Have it ready in advance for the big day!
On The Big Day
- Arrive at Basketball court latest by 8:00am on 18th January 2020. Your guests can arrive by 9:15 am and proceed directly to the guest seating area.
- Use the restroom now if required. The event last 3 hours or more depending on your cooperation!
- Desks for each Faculty will be set up at the venue. Sign-in and collect your shawls.
- Stand in the sequence as directed by your faculty member/student volunteer
- Volunteers will guide you to your designated spot in the seating area. Please do not change the order as this is crucial for maintaining time.
During The Event:
- Switch off your mobile phones for the entire duration of the event.
- We know you are excited; kindly maintain the dignity of the event.
- Please return to your seats after receiving your degree. We know you want to celebrate immediately but spare a thought for your colleagues who haven’t yet received theirs. No one likes their big moment to be marred by empty seats and chaotic scenes.
- Photography is not permitted during the event. This causes a lot of commotion at the stage area as parents and juniors try to photograph the event. We have an official photographer who will be taking photos of all graduating students. Photos can be obtained from your respective administrative staff a week after the event.
- Remain seated till the event is declared closed and the dignitaries have walked off the stage.
On The Stage:
- Do not rush on to the stage before time!
- Please make sure that you face the dignitary while accepting the degree/award and ensure that your face is visible to the photographer and the audience.
After The Event:
- As a precaution, we only issue a photocopy of the degree certificate during the ceremony. Kindly contact your Faculty administration to obtain the original.
General Note:
- Student volunteers are there to guide you. We know they are your juniors, but please listen to them.

- Reporting at Basketball court [next to SSO], collection of shawl and formation of lines at 0800
- Convocation procession from Basketball court to main seating area
- Convocation address by President, Chairman, and Chief Guest
- Group conferment of degree to all graduating students
- University level awards
- Group photograph of graduating students with dignitaries
- Award of degree certificate on respective stages by respective Deans
