This accomplishment reflects the program’s ongoing commitment to advancing material technologies, responsive design methodologies, and emotionally resonant solutions at this prestigious global competition.
OriK – Gold Medal in Fashion Design
Sanam Rajeena and Sayantan Chowdhury (FD PG ’23) were awarded the Gold Medal in the Fashion Design category for their project OriK, developed during their third-semester studio Responsive Design studio, under the mentorship of Anuj Anjaria and Ar. Takbir Fatima.

OriK is a kinetic fashion accessory that integrates principles of soft robotics and curved origami, employing 3D printing on pre-stretched substrates as its core fabrication technique. The accessory consists of modular units that dynamically reveal and curl in response to commands, transforming the textile into a responsive, animated form.
Beyond fashion, OriK introduces a scalable adaptive system with potential applications across various domains, offering new perspectives on movement, responsiveness, and material behavior.
BeatBox – Bronze Medal in Intelligent Interaction Design
Nikhil Singla, Mouli Sripada, and Arjun Kota (FD PG ’23) received the Bronze Medal in the Intelligent Interaction Design category for their project BeatBox, developed as part of the Responsive Design studio, mentored by Takbir Fatima and Anuj Anjaria.

BeatBox is an interactive spatial system that translates sound into dynamic physical responses — light, movement, and ambient transformation. Eschewing traditional screens and interfaces, it creates immersive environments that respond intuitively to audio input, treating sound as a design material.
With potential applications in therapy rooms, classrooms, and public installations, BeatBox explores how technology can shape spaces that are intuitive, emotionally aware, and responsive — bringing environments to life through sound.
