FD has continually evolved as a space where design education is shaped by and shapes generations of designers. Over the years, it has expanded its scope to engage with contemporary streams of knowledge, responding to the complex cultural, social, and ethical landscapes of design.
The theme for the 35th Foundation Day was “Identity.” At FD, identity is not seen as a fixed discovery but as an ever-changing act of co-creation — living in the people who walk through its corridors, the ideas and objects they bring into being, and the spaces they inhabit and transform.
The celebrations began with a Lamp Lighting ceremony led by the student council, president, provost, dean, faculty, and staff members, followed by an exhibition of student works at the FD Double Height, attended by students, faculty, and staff. A guest lecture by Ajay Shah, renowned designer and founder of Ajay Shah Design Studio (ASDS), was hosted at the BNB Hall, where he shared insights from his design practice.
The Student Council also organized workshops, a mela, and a cultural night of student performances. During these events, students showcased their talents, celebrated together, and created memorable experiences as part of life at CEPT. The celebration reflected on FD’s legacy while inspiring the community to redefine design as an evolving collective identity.
