This innovative public seating design was developed under the guidance of studio tutors Bhargav Tewar, Nikunj Dave, Vikas Patel, and Sahil Tanti from the Faculty of Technology.

Inspired by the Erkencho instrument known for its natural amplification, BIGUL BENCH is designed to function both as a seat and a large sound amplifier for smartphones. The bench features a recessed tail section where users can place their smartphones to enjoy amplified music, transforming public seating into a dynamic and interactive social experience.
Crafted from 20 mm thick glass-fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) and weighing approximately 220 kg, the BIGUL BENCH is engineered to enhance sound clarity and volume. This innovative product not only offers a space to sit but also promotes social interaction and shared experiences in gardens, city squares, riverfronts, and other public areas.
The registration of this project as intellectual property highlights CEPT University’s ongoing commitment to creativity, innovation, and excellence in education.
