Opening the lecture with sketches from her early projects, Sejima reflected on her long-standing pursuit of creating a seamless relationship between interior and exterior spaces. Her central question being: What kind of architecture can truly connect people with their surrounding environment? Over the decades, she has come to believe that achieving this connection enables us — those living in the present — to shape new landscapes while honoring the ones that already exist.
Hosting Sejima marked an opportune moment for CEPT, bringing its academic community into dialogue with a globally renowned, award-winning architectural practice.
