About Gargi Mishra

Gargi Mishra is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Planning, CEPT University, Ahmedabad, where she teaches in the Master of Planning (M.Plan — Urban Infrastructure) and Bachelor of Urban Design (BUD) programs. She previously served as an Urban Fellow with the Kerala Urban Policy Commission, contributing to the formulation of Kerala’s Urban Policy 2025.
Gargi holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from CEPT University and a Bachelor’s degree in Planning (B.Plan) from the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal. She is currently in the advanced stages of her PhD at CEPT University, supported by the Indo – Dutch Water4Change initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). Her doctoral research examines land – water relationships in Indian cities through the lens of spatial planning and Urban Political Ecology. Her teaching pedagogy aims to connect land use, infrastructure, ecology, and governance in shaping resilient cities. Her research interests and related publications span water-sensitive planning, climate resilience, infrastructure planning, participatory resource management, and heritage management.
