Bachelor’s in Urban Design — Second Year (Third Semester) 

The higher level admissions are open for applicants who have successfully completed 1st year of architecture, urban design, urban planning program and wish to join CEPT University’s undergraduate program from 2nd year onwards based on eligibility criteria.

The admissions are open for the academic year 2026 for Bachelor’s in Urban Design (BUD) as per the following eligibility criteria:

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor’s in Urban Design - Second Year (Third Semester) AY 2026-27

Applications are invited for admission to the second year at BUD, Faculty of Planning at CEPT University from candidates who have finished the first year or are studying in the second semester as per the eligibility mentioned below.

Candidates presently studying at CEPT University (CEPT Foundation Program) may also apply if they fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below.

Eligibility for Bachelor’s of Urban Design (BUD)

Candidates who have successfully cleared all courses/subjects for both semesters in the first year with a minimum 55% aggregate average in Bachelor’s in Architecture or Bachelor’s in Planning or an equivalent Bachelor’s Degree of at least 4 years undergraduate program after 12th from a recognized University.

A candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

OR

Passed the 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject.

A candidate should have a valid NATA/JEE (main) - Paper 2(B.Arch/B Plan) score. The candidate should have appeared in any of these tests in the year 2025.

Notes:

  • Please note that the entire process of admissions will be online
  • In case applicants who are applying for semester III and have not received their semester II mark sheet, such students may produce a pass certificate for semester II from the registrar or equivalent authority in the University stating that the candidate has passed in all subjects of semester I and II. If admission is offered to the candidate, it will be provisional and subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
  • Applicants who have grades or GPA or CGPA instead of marks should submit a grades/GPA/CGPA to marks conversion document/certificate along with the mark sheets.
  • Any attempt to influence the outcome of the selection process shall automatically result in the disqualification of the candidate from the entire admissions process.
  • An applicant should appear for all the stages of assessment. Absence at any stage may lead to disqualification.
  • A 10+3 diploma should be cleared from the Technical Board of Gujarat or any other state or from a college/ university established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and will be eligible to apply for the program.

Application Requirements for Bachelor’s in Urban Design - Second Year (Third Semester) AY 2026-27

The applicant has to submit the following documents online at the admissions registration page: https://admissions.cept.ac.in

  1. Completed Application Form
  2. Self-attested copy of 12th mark sheet
  3. 1st-year self-attested mark sheet of both semesters or attendance certificate with marks or grades mentioned for the last academic year.
  4. The applicant should submit the score card of respective aptitude tests as a requirement mentioned in section 2 on eligibility criteria.

Shortlisting of candidates for Bachelor’s in Urban Design - Second Year (Third Semester) AY 2026-27

Candidates will be shortlisted for the entrance exam based on the following:

  1. Meeting the requirements of eligibility criteria mentioned in section 2.
  2. The valid score/result is based on the following:
  3. Relevant Aptitude test (NATA, JEE (main)-Paper2(B.Arch/BPlan) score. The candidate should have appeared in any of these tests in the year 2025.
  4. 10+2 exam/10+3 diploma exam
  5. 1st & 2nd -semester result with min 55% marks.

About the Entrance Exam for the Bachelor’s in Urban Design - Second Year (Third Semester) AY 2026-27

The entrance exam will be conducted in two parts

Test 1 will be conducted online.

Test 2 will be conducted on CEPT University campus, Ahmedabad.

The passing score for all the tests is 55 marks. The details of the tests are as below:

The mock test for the online exam will be on 23rd of June, 2026. The mock test will allow the candidate to set up their computer before the entrance exam.

24th June 2026 - Test 1

Eligibility: The applicant has to submit the application form and required documents and clear the eligibility check to be able to appear for Test 1.

Test 1 is a foundational assessment comprising multiple-choice questions. It evaluates applicants' understanding of technical drawing, structures, materials, mapping, anthropometrics, and representation, along with their ability to comprehend ideas effectively.

Schedule:   10:30 AM to 11:30 AM (Online) 

Tools and Media Required: laptop/desktop with web camera, stable broadband internet connection, sketch pad and pen

27th June 2026 - Test 2

Eligibility: The applicant has completed Test 1.

Schedule: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (On campus)

Problem solving, Representing

Tools and Media Required: Digital – Laptop and/or Digitizer with stylus installed with required software

OR

Manual - Drafting tools, drawing mediums of your choice like pens, pencils, markers, charcoal, watercolor, etc.

Merit List and Admissions for the Bachelor’s in Urban Design - Second Year (Third Semester) AY 2026-27

  1. A merit list will be generated based on
  • NATA/JEE score
  • Test 1
  • Test 2

The applicant has to score a minimum of 55% to be able to qualify. The applicants will be admitted based on the merit list published.

  1. If two applicants have the same score in test 2, the applicant will be chosen based on the result of  Test1.
  2. Based on the availability of seats and the acceptance status of applicants, the admission committee, at its discretion may offer admission further, in the order of a consolidated merit list.
