Non-Aesthetic Modernity: Metaphysics of Modern Architecture

Jaimini Mehta
Front Cover Non Aesthetic Modernity

This book looks at modernity in general as well as in architecture as a continuously, ever-evolving phenomenon that can’t be confined to a periodicity.

This book looks at modernity in general as well as in architecture as a continuously, ever-evolving phenomenon that can’t be confined to a periodicity. It is the modes of decision making and not the aesthetic qualities of the cultural productions that distinguish traditions and modernity. Architecture, thus, as a cultural product, embodies the ethico-mythical nuclei of the culture it is produced in and acquires its identity, authenticity, and durability from such embodiment.
