Student’s Achievements

2024

  • Kairav Shah from Master's in Construction Engineering & Management program (Batch 2022) secured the silver medal in the Digital Construction skill competition. This competition was supported by Autodesk, BIMlabs Global, and Bexel, and evaluated by industry experts. The event held from May 15th to 19th at Yashobhoomi Dwarka, New Delhi, was inaugurated by Mr. Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and other esteemed officials. The National Skill Competition 2024 featured over 63 skills and nearly 900 participants and was supported by the National Skill Development Corporation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, making it one of India's largest competitions.
  • Jhanvi Chauhan, an alumna of the Bachelor of Construction Technology program (Batch 2016), has been awarded the prestigious Charles W. Graham ’88 Graduate Fellowship at Texas A&M University's Department of Construction Science. The fellowship, funded by the Graham family and the Construction Industry Advisory Council, is awarded for academic excellence, dedication, and a passion for construction management.


2023

  • Rutu Parekh, an alumna of the M.Tech Geomatics program (Batch 2011), was honored for her groundbreaking research in planetary studies. At the Asteroids, Comets, Meteors 2023 conference in Flagstaff, USA (https://www.hou.usra.edu/meetings/acm2023/), an asteroid named 33856 Rutuparekh was unveiled in recognition of her exceptional contributions. Dr. Parekh, currently a postdoc at JPL-Caltech, focuses on studying icy planetary surfaces and their evolution using advanced imaging and modeling techniques. Her work on Vesta and Ceres, utilizing data from the Dawn mission at the DLR Institute of Planetary Research, has gained widespread acclaim.
  • Naman Khamar, a student of Master’s in Construction Engineering Management program, secured 2nd position in a Gujarat Council of Science City presentation competition on National Engineers Day, emphasizing 'Engineering for a Sustainable Future.
  • Atharva Dave, a graduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program coauthored a paper with Dr. Jyoti Trivedi, selected as ICCRIP-2023's First Runner-up.
  • Kathan Patel, a graduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program participated in “Poster Presentation” at the prestigious International Land Use Symposium (ILUS) 2023 receives ‘Best Poster Award’.
  • Samved Patel, a student of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program was announced as the winner for the National Design Competition – UltraTech IndiaNext Built with Speed organized by UltraTech Cement.
  • The team of four students Debanjana Das, Arjita Gupta, Mohi Saxena, Mohammed Umar from Master’s in Building Energy Performance program won the IBPSA Student Modelling Competition 2023. The 18th International IBPSA Building Simulation Conference of The International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) was held in Shanghai, China from Sept 4-6 2023.
  • Ishita Singh, a graduate of Master’s in Geomatics program, publishes 'Geospatial Approach for Reducing Water Stress' in Elsevier's 'Climate Change, Community Response'
  • Water Efficient Urinal, a design by a students of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, Smit Borad, Poojan Kamdar, under the guidance of Dr. Dipsha Shah, Prof. Dipen Mehta successfully registered with the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India (GoI).
  • Prajwal Parmar, a student of Master’s in Geomatics program, secured third place in the Map-Making Competition jointly organized by ISRS-AC and IEEE CEPT University Student Branch during World Environmental Day celebrations. His winning poster showcased vegetation changes in Chennai between 2016 and 2022, emphasizing the declining green cover and its potential impact on urban heat islands and microclimates
  • Ansh Gupta, a student in the Bachelor's Construction Technology program, won the YRE National Single Photograph Reportage and secured the second prize in the International YRE Competition 2023.
  • Ishita Singh, a graduate of Master’s in Geomatics program, has secured third position in the ESRI Young Scholars program Award 2023, an event organized by ESRI India. Her Project titled as 'Urban Flood Resilient Cities Empowered Through GIS'.
  • Samved Patel, a graduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, along with his 14-member team, clinched victory in the Solar Decathlon India National Design Competition, securing the division title for Single Family Housing. Organized by IIHS and AEEE under IUSSTF, the competition aimed to create socially and economically responsive net-zero energy buildings. With 600 teams, it spanned nine months, culminating in a jury presentation at Infosys, Mysore. Jurors praised the winning design for its fusion of tradition and advanced technology, embodying a conscious, sensor-driven, and environmentally responsive home. The victorious team included members from various institutions, led by Prof. Harsh Sharma from APIED, Anand.


2022

  • Hitarth Shah, Kathan Patel & Samved Patel, students of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program have secured 1st place in Pragyan 2022. Pragyan, the annual international techno-managerial festival of NIT Trichy, held the ‘Plan It’ competition.
  • Samved Patel, Kathan Patel, Darshan Soni, a graduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program have secured 2nd place in D.E.S.I.G.N with JSP Panther Structural Championship organized by Jindal South West Holding Limited.
  • Samved Patel , Kathan Patel, Darshan Soni, Yash Mistry & Hitarth Shah, a graduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program have secured 1st place in Yagachi Resort masterplan Competition organized by Snaptrude Inc., in association with Access Developers Pvt. Ltd.
  • Kathan Patel, a graduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program has secured 1st place in LOGIQ, an event of AAKAR- the Annual Civil Engineering Festival of IIT Bombay.
  • Samved Patel, Hitarth Shah & Darshan Soni, a graduates of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program secured the 2nd rank in Bentley’s Structural Design (CASO DE ESTUDIO – The Case Study Competition), organised by Civil Engineering Forum, IIT Bhubaneshwar.
  • Kathan Patel and Samved Patel, a graduates of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program have secured 1st and 3rd place in RACHNA (one of the events of XPECTO’22), organised by Science and Technology Council, IIT Mandi.
  • Vagmi Patel, a graduate of Master’s in Geomatics program, secured 2nd position at `India Clean Air Summit 2022: Looking At Air Pollution Through Climate Lens’ organized by CSTEP; the University of California, Davis.
  • Tarjani Shah, a garduate of Master's in Building Energy Performance program has won the Project StaSIO Spring 2022 Challenge.
  • Vinaya Thakur and Ishita Singh, graduates from Master’s in Geomatics program were among the top three presenters in the Digital Competition organized by URISA's Vanguard Cabinet.
  • HANAMI: THE BLOOMING ROOF, a project undertaken by a grduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, Aaradhya Parakh has been registered and published by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India .
  • Srinjoy Das, a graduate of Master’s in Construction Engineering Management program, has got his research paper published in the Springer journal ‘CSI Transactions on ICT.’ The paper titled ‘Harnessing Social Media Data for Analyzing Public Inconvenience in Construction of Indian Metro Rail Projects’ is based on his M.Tech thesis.
  • Keval Solanki, a graduate of Master’s in Construction Engineering & Management won the 1st (Regional and National Level) and Maulik Poriya, a student of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program won the 2ndprize (Regional Level) in the India Skills Competition , organised by National Skill Development Corporation .
  • Vagmi Patel, Sweata Katwala and Malhar Patel, graduates from Master’s in Geomatics program, have won 2nd prize in ‘AABTonics- An International GIS Competition-2021’.


2021

  • Samved Patel, graduate of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program has secured 3rd place in Vidagdh 2.0, an event of IEEE STUDENT BRANCH BBDNIIT in association with WIE (Women's In Engineering), conducted on 29th September- 4th October, 2021. The competition was based on Article Writing competition. There were more than 40 participants in the event. It was a national level event, inviting participants from all over India.
  • Kathan Patel and Samved Patel, the graduates of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, have won the 1st and 2nd prize in NIRMAN’ 21 (A NATIONAL LEVEL SYMPOSIUM) , organised by Organisation of Civil Engineering Students & Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University.
  • Nikunj Pithva and Neha Sharma from Masters in Geomatics, presented their papers at the ‘ISRSNS-2020: National Symposium on Environment Monitoring & Climate Change Assessment: Opportunities and Challenges’.
  • An article based on Utkarsh Mathur’s Master’s thesis, under the Building Energy Performance program, was published in the Journal of Building Engineering.
  • Aastha Shah, a student of the Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, presented her work from the undergraduate research on ‘Critical Success Factors for Elevated Segmental Construction for Metro Project Systems in India’ at Texas A&M University as part of the virtual conference on ‘Novel Approaches to Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions 2021.
  • Two teams of three students from the Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, each viz. Harshil Chauhan, Hitarth Shah, Kathan Patel, and Manan Soni, Samved Patel, Yash Mistry secured 3rd and 5th ranks respectively in the National level Bridge Builder competition which was organized by `AAKAAR’, a student community of IIT Bombay, and sponsored by TATA Projects.
  • A team comprising Akshat Patel, Pracheta Acharya, and Poojan Pasawala from the Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program won the Ultratech Sparkling Star Contest 2021 organized by UltraTech Cement Ltd.
  • Keval Solanki, a student of Master’s in Construction Engineering & Management is the winner of Olous Innovative Minds Contest 2021.
  • Vinaya Thakur, from Master’s in Geomatics has won second prize in URISA Digital Competition.
  • Macha Bhargav, a student from Master’s in Building Energy Performance, received an “Honorable Mention For Clarity” at the Project StaSIO Summer 2021 Challenge focused on daylight and glare.
  • Two teams of students from the Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program have won 1st and 3rd prize in the ‘Geovisleshana’ - a national-level competition organized by the Indian Geotechnical Society. The first prize is won by Sagar Shah and Uddant Patel, while the 3rd prize is won by Dhruvi Shah and Akshata Patel.

 

2020

  • FT Alum Saranya A has received a four-year, fully funded PhD position at the Sustainable Buildings and Societies Laboratory (SBS Lab), at the University of Colorado Boulder, US.
  • Jaydeep Bhadra, an alumnus of Master’s in Building Energy Performance (2015-17) receives a four-year fully funded Ph.D. position in Energy Resilience and the Built Environment (ERBE), at the School of Architecture, Building, and Civil Engineering of Loughborough University.
  • Kartikay Sharma, an alumnus of Master’s in Building Energy Performance (2015-17) receives a four-year fully-funded PhD position in Canada Excellence Research Chair in Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Communities and Cities, at Concordia University, Montreal.

 

Faculty Recognition

  • FT Master’s in Geomatics winning ESRi award: CEPT University is the recipient of Esri India’s “Excellence in GIS Education” award, which was presented during the award ceremony at the virtual Esri User conference India on 15th July, 2020
  • FT Master’s in Geomatics students presented their study based on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ (SBA) to the Ahmedabad Municipal Council (AMC) officials recently.
  • Shivam Soni, Krupansh Patel and Vishesh Mistry, students of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program won the Ultratech Sparkling Star Contest
  • Anmol Mathur, a student from Master’s in Building Energy Performance program been awarded the BHAVAN Scholarship to research Urban Energy Modelling at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA.
  • Helly Gandhi, Akshat Patel and Kahan Shah, students from Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, presented papers at the 7th International Conference on Energy & Infrastructure Management, held at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Ahmedabad.
  • Jaimin Padia has been awarded Shardashish Interschool Fellowship 2020, based on the nomination of Mary Boyce, Dean, Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science, Columbia University.
  • Rajvi Shah has been awarded a $30,000 scholarship by Pratt Institute, New York.
  • A project 'Celebrating the intangible essence of Ahmedabad’ proposed by Khushi Shah, a student from the Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, got accepted for World Heritage Volunteer Program- under the initiative ‘World Heritage Volunteer’ undertaken by UNESCO.
  • Het Thakkar, a student of Master’s in Geomatics program, has won the ESRI India Young Scholar Program, a nationwide competition that is open to students from geospatial science disciplines at universities and colleges in India. His work on geospatial analysis focused on solutions for Khadia ward of Ahmedabad city.
  • ‘Geospatial Technology to Contain COVID-19’ - a project related to the ongoing pandemic by Prakher Mishra, a student from Master in Geomatics program, has been approved as one of the top proposals from across the world for the Global Grad Show 2020.
  • Arpit Kanv, Khushi Shah and Urja Gandhi, students of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program presented their papers at the ICOMOS India Scientific Symposium 2020, which was held in collaboration with IIT Madras and National Center for Safety of Heritage Structures.
  • A team of Shubham Solanki, Vardan Soi, Anmol Mathur and Nikhil Singh Yaduvanshi, students of Bachelor’s in Construction Technology program, has secured 3rd position at the ASHRAE Design Competitionin the ‘Integrated Sustainable Building Design’          
  • A team of Dhruv Patel, Fenil Shukla and Kush Shah Students from Master’s in Structural Engineering Design program, presented their papers at the National conference on Recent Advances in Structural Engineering - 2020, which was held at National Institute of Technology- Jamshedpur and sponsored by Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-3
