About the Book

In-between Histories lists the set of buildings most often discussed by historians of post-Independence Indian architecture, revealing the contours of an unofficial canon which has shaped discourse.

By drawing and describing this set of buildings, the book focuses attention back to the architectural object itself and expands the limited set of references currently studied in schools of architecture.
