Center for Professional Development Workshop on Urban Development and Service Improvement

The Center for Professional Development conducted a two day workshop for Gujarat’s Urban Local Bodies on November 15 and 16, 2016. Experts discussed topics like Solid Waste Management in a Changing Urban Setting, The Practical Aspects of Change Management to implement new approaches, Tackling Mobility Challenges for Growing Cities, Smart Cities in a Changing India, Innovations in local area planning, Prioritizing Change Initiatives. There was active participation from the various officers present. The sessions were conducted at the Ahmedabad AMA facilities.

Participating cities include Himmatnagar , Surendranagar, Bharuch, Modasa, Bopal-Ghuma, Gandhidham, Nadiad, Dabhoi, Mangrol, Wadhvan, Porbandar, Kalol, Viramgam, Deesa, Godhra, Petlad, Dahod, Mandvi and Keshod.

As an outcome of the workshop, the participants urged CPD to conduct more such workshops, particularly to include various levels of staff members in the ambit of training programs. Further, the participants also requested follow up sessions on particular areas of concern, specific to their local body.
