Faculty and Students from Faculty of Design participate in the Annual IMIAD International Workshop 2018 at Lugano.

26 students from IMIAD, Faculty of Design CEPT University attended the IMIAD International Workshop 2018 between 10th and 21st July. Students were accompanied by Asst.Prof. Rishav Jain, who also taught and mentored the international participants at the workshop. The annual international IMIAD Workshop, themed 'A Global Village' was organized and conducted by SUPSI (Scuola Universitaria Professionale Della Svizzera Italiana Dipartimento Ambiente costruzioni e design) in Lugano, Switzerland.

This year’s annual Interior Architectural Design Program-IMIAD workshop focused on Interior Strategies for reanimating outcast people & places. The workshop was organized by SUPSI, hosting 67 IMIAD students (from 4 IMIAD Institutions - CEPT University, Ahmedabad India, HFT Stuttgart Germany, ITU, Istanbul Turkey and SUPSI, Lugano Switzerland), around 16 tutors, 7 Guest lecturers and 2 key-note guests. was conducted between the 10th and 21st July 2018.

This year’s topic aimed at two themes traveling on parallel tracks: social and environmental recovery, which should give new roles to outcast people and at the same time new identity to a neglected place named Casiroli, a small village in the charming Muggio Valley. The IMIAD Lugano workshop 2018 was the initial part of a medium and long-term project that aims to give a new identity to a place, a global village, like Casiroli, abandoned by its last few inhabitants about 20 years ago. This was an attempt to achieve this goal by going as well through the reconquest of a role in today’s society, lost by those people, that for the most disparate reasons have been put aside, sometimes even just temporarily, losing consequently also a fundamental part of their social identities.
