A: The seminal five year undergraduate (UG) design program is along the lines of the other UG programs at CEPT which are aimed to provide a comprehensive and rigorous academic experience and training. Starting with a common first year (CEPT Foundation Program), all UG students across all the faculties at CEPT collectively discover unique perspectives amidst multiple domains whilst beginning to understand aspects of diverse creative endeavors. This common first year also integrates product and communication design focussed modules that build competencies and skills that support the students' learnings as they progress through the design program. Towards the latter part of the program, a semester-long immersion in practice (through modes of industry project, internship, fellowship, apprenticeship, residency or incubation projects)  and immersion in research  allows students the prospect of developing practical knowledge along with theoretical frameworks in the field of design. CEPT believes that its design education is better served by a five year program.
