MRE: Master’s in Real Estate

The MBA in Real Estate (MRE) is a two-year, specialized MBA program designed to be background-agnostic and to leverage the distinctive pedagogical and sectoral strengths of the CEPT University ecosystem. The program is positioned to address the evolving requirements of a rapidly formalizing real estate sector by integrating managerial education with deep engagement in the land and built environment.

The MRE differentiates itself from other real estate programs in India and internationally through the following features:

• Firm- and project-level management focus, covering the complete real estate development lifecycle, including land and market assessment, site planning and building design, construction management, finance, and marketing.
• Studio-based pedagogy, where learning is anchored in real-world problems.
• Co-teaching by industry practitioners and academic faculty, ensuring strong alignment between professional practice and conceptual rigor.
• Internships and live project work with leading real estate developers, consultancies, and allied organizations.

The curriculum has been shaped through consultations with an industry advisory group comprising senior leaders from real estate development, investment, finance, and advisory domains, ensuring strong alignment with evolving industry practices and market requirements.

Housed in the Faculty of Management, the program draws on CEPT University’s strengths across its Faculties of Planning, Technology, Architecture, and Design, to offer comprehensive modules in macro-market strategy, project planning and development, firm-level management, data analytics, and sustainability. Alongside conceptual grounding in the critical dimensions of the built environment, students gain hands-on experience through studios, field immersions, and a capstone project grounded in real-world development challenges.

The program also provides opportunities for global exposure through CEPT University’s network of more than 40 international academic collaborations with institutions offering well-regarded real estate programs across Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
