About CEPT Urban Planning and Design Foundation (CUPDF), CEPT University
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India has designated CEPT University as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Urban Planning and Design in December 2023. CEPT University’s CoE is housed within CEPT Urban Planning and Design Foundation (CUPDF), a not-for-profit company of CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
The main objective of CUPDF is to undertake action research and capacity building across cities and states. Its focus is on enhancing the effectiveness of urban planning and design by identifying urban problems, generating research-based insights and informing cities with tailored solutions to support the implementation of urban projects.
About the Position:
The Research Intern will support the CUPDF team's ongoing study on Development Control Regulations for Indian cities. The intern will assist in documenting and assessing the on-ground implementation of building regulations on real estate projects. The intern will engage in working on verification of building layout plans, process mapping, primary data collection, stakeholder consultations, and generating insights.
Other tasks on the job may include:
- Analyze data, create maps and visual representations.
- Extract insights on building regulations and urban development across cities.
- Contribute to research reports, presentations, etc. summarizing findings from the study.
Reports to: Research Associate / Deputy Head / Head at CUPDF
Essential Qualifications and Requirements:
- Completed a Bachelor’s degree in architecture (mandatory) and currently pursuing or completed a master’s degree in urban planning or related field.
- Basic understanding of Development Control Regulations and building layout plans.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, and ability to conduct primary surveys.
