Rucharani Kuwar (FD PG 21), alumni of the Furniture Design programme at CEPT University and founder of Sutary Design Studio, has been recognised in the inaugural edition of the AD New Wave Awards 2026 by Architectural Digest India.

Founded by Ar. Rucharani, Sutary is a thoughtful furniture studio born from a deep respect for Indian heritage and its place in our modern lives. At the heart of our practice is the philosophy of Generative Lineage, the belief that culture shouldn’t be preserved as a static artifact of the past, but kept alive, dynamic, and continuously evolving.

Through Adaptive Tradition, we quietly bridge the gap between historic craftsmanship and contemporary living. We gently scale down the grand proportions of traditional design into honest, well-crafted furniture tailored for the rhythms of urban homes. Built with structural integrity and a buy once, keep forever” ethos, each piece is designed to be a quiet, anchoring presence in your space growing more beautiful with time and carrying its story forward to the next generation.

Launched by Architectural Digest India, AD New Wave is a platform that recognises 25 emerging designers, studios, and creative practices from across the Indian subcontinent with up to a decade of professional experience. The initiative celebrates original and forward-looking work across architecture, interiors, furniture, textiles, lighting, and allied design disciplines, with a focus on craftsmanship, material exploration, and contemporary design approaches.
