About the Faculty

The Faculty of Management at CEPT University is a highly specialised management school in India, and among a small number of comparable institutions in South Asia focused on the management of the built environment. The Faculty trains professionals at the intersection of managerial rigour and domain knowledge of cities, infrastructure, land, and real estate. Its academic focus responds to the growing demand for managers capable of addressing complex urban and real estate challenges through informed decision-making, institutional design, and effective execution across public, private, and development sectors.

The Faculty’s academic engagement began with a focus on Urban Management, addressing long-standing gaps in professional capacity for city governance, infrastructure delivery, and service management. Over time, its scope has expanded to include real estate management, reflecting the importance of land and property markets in urban and regional development. The Faculty brings together experienced practitioners, policy professionals, and researchers with strong applied and scholarly credentials. Pedagogy is anchored in the studio method, combining field-based immersion with case-based learning, enabling students to engage directly with real-world managerial, institutional, and market challenges.

The Faculty of Management offers two-year postgraduate degree programmes in Urban Management and Real Estate Management. Urban Management focuses on cities as complex systems encompassing governance, finance, infrastructure, service delivery, sustainability, and data-enabled decision-making. Real Estate Management addresses land and property markets, real estate finance, development processes, regulation, valuation, and asset management. Both programmes admit students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds and emphasise analytical capability, managerial tools, and domain-specific knowledge relevant to the built environment.

Graduates of the Faculty of Management work across government agencies, consulting and professional services firms, real estate and infrastructure organisations, policy advisory and research institutions, international development agencies, and academia. Alumni occupy roles in project execution, policy formulation, market analysis, institutional leadership, and research. Several have pursued advanced research and academic careers in leading national and international institutions. The Faculty’s alumni network continues to grow across India and internationally, supporting professional connections, mentorship, and collaboration.

Through the Master’s in Urban Management at CEPT University, I am exploring economics beyond numbers—at the intersection of space, design, governance, and the built environment. Learning alongside architects, planners, and designers has broadened my perspective and strengthened my approach to urban challenges.
