Bringing together participants from five states & UTs — Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan—the workshop fostered collaborative learning on designing vibrant Street Food Hubs under the PM SVANidhi Scheme. The program provided a unique platform for participants to engage with experts, exchange ideas, and learn from one another while exploring innovative approaches to planning and designing inclusive public spaces that respond to the needs of both street vendors and the public.

From expert-led sessions and design studios to immersive field visits at Law Garden Happy Street, Kankaria Lakefront Food Zone, and Manek Chowk, participants explored innovative approaches to creating people-centric public spaces that support livelihoods and enhance urban experiences. The combination of classroom learning and on-ground exposure enabled participants to better understand successful street food environments and their role in promoting vibrant, inclusive, and well-managed urban spaces.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Isha Kalia, IAS, Joint Secretary (NULM & PM SVANidhi), MoHUA, and Mr. Parag Gavali, IAS, Deputy Secretary, MoHUA, for joining the workshop and encouraging this important initiative. Their presence and interaction with participants added significant value to the workshop and reinforced the importance of collaborative efforts towards creating vibrant Street Food Hubs across Indian cities.
