About the position

Campus Office manages the operation and maintenance of all facilities at CEPT University. The University campus is located over 12 acres of land area. Campus Office is the central point of contact for day to day operation and facilities related services. The main aim of the campus office is to provide clean and well maintained infrastructure along with adequate facilities to students, faculty members and all staff.

CEPT University invites applications for the position of Senior Electrician, Campus Maintenance Office – CEPT University. We are seeking a technically proficient professional with hands-on experience in electrical systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting with an understanding of various electrician work-related operative processes at the University level.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes in all installations and repairs.
• Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, and equipment (including motors, relays, and circuit panels) following specifications, blueprints, and electrical codes.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical system issues using testing instruments, ensuring safety and efficiency of circuits.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as VFDs, motors, pumps, and generators.
• Manage inventory, maintain accurate records of materials and labor, and select appropriate materials and hardware for projects.
• Coordinate with vendors and supervise electrical projects, ensuring timely and safe completion.
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems in facilities, addressing any repairs or unsafe conditions as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures, including proper tool usage, lifting, and working at heights, to ensure a safe work environment.
• Respond to emergency electrical issues and provide support for system testing during handover-takeover processes.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring all equipment is in safe operating condition.

Academic Qualification: 

• The candidate must hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or possess a valid Class A Electrical Supervisor License issued by the Government of Gujarat or any other state government.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the education or industrial sector, is required.

Expertise Required: 

• Knowledgeable in electrical circuits, wiring, and motor operations, with a strong understanding of local electrical codes.
• Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and perform necessary calculations.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems using hand and power tools.
