Reimagining CEPT

In 2012, CEPT University completed 50 years since the establishment of the School of Architecture in 1962. In November 2012, the Board of Management, CEPT University, suggested the undertaking of a deep and critical introspective exercise by the faculty and staff of the University. The aim of this exercise was to examine all aspects of the University with the goal to better meet future opportunities and challenges.

The Executive Council under the leadership of the President, Dr. Bimal Patel, led this introspective exercise. Internal deliberations commenced with a series of informal discussions among groups of faculty members. These discussions helped in identifying core strengths, best traditions and most effective practices of the University. It was important to first clearly identify these ideas and practices so that these may be strengthened. These also helped in identifying issues that needed attention and practices that needed improvement. The result of these discussions was an emergence of ideas for change.

These discussions were followed by a series of detailed structured meetings in the Executive Council of the University. Through these meetings a more concrete vision for the future functioning of the University was generated. More refined plans were prepared for rejuvenation, renewal, and restructuring the different aspects of the University.

The attached presentations are the outcomes of the deliberations and discussions of the Executive Council. They capture the intention of the faculty and the staff of the University to move forward along the decided direction and renew the commitment to excellence in education in the focus areas identified by the University.
