- Student attendance and absence
Minimum attendance required to qualify for pass / fail credit is 85%. In the event of prolonged illness / hospitalization, minimum attendance requirement to receive pass / no pass grade for a course is 70%. The medical certificate has to be submitted on the day of joining back after the medical leave. This certificate will be verified by the doctor on campus. The student or his / her parents must intimate the concerned tutor of the illness / hospitalization as soon as possible but before the date of joining back.
Students missing out on evaluation or assessment on medical ground or other unavoidable circumstances will be graded incomplete (IC) and given a time of 4 weeks to complete all requirements of the course. Student will be marked no pass (NP) if he / she fails to complete the requirements within this stipulated time. Any exceptional cases not meeting the above requirements will be reviewed by a committee constituted by the Academic Director and Faculty Dean along with the unit tutors. Deans may act on the recommendation of the committee.
- 3Unit allocation and interview
The students must go through the Student’s Briefs uploaded on the portal and thence make an informed choice in selecting a particular Studio Unit. Students are expected to attentively be present at the time of all Studio Unit presentations, which shall take place on the first day of the semester and thereafter, update their preferences of studios on the CEPT portal on the same day.
Based on this preference list, the students shall be interviewed by unit tutors before finalizing on a group of 12 to 15 students. During the interview students are expected to present their preceding semester’ work - portfolio to prospective tutors. This would help the tutors to make a fair judgment of the Student’s capabilities. Students shall get to know whether or not they’re admitted for the Studio Unit by the end of their interview. Students are also required to sign manually in the list available with the tutor. In case of students placed on hold, it is the student’s decision to see whether they want to wait for the tutor to convert their hold into acceptance or they would like to try their next preference studio unit. The students can watch the filling up of various studio units live. The final list is declared in the evening.

As per the AICTE notification F.No.AICTE/PG/2012/20/SRO/06/1143, dated 25-07-2012, the Grievance Redressal Committee has been constituted with the objective of resolving the grievances of students, parents and others.

CEPT University has developed an Online Student Feedback System (OSFS) as a part of the effort towards improving the quality of teaching. Constructive feedback will help the instructors in improving the content and delivery of their courses. Please note, the feedback system depends on anonymity and hence your privacy is protected. Online Student Feedback is mandatory and is a part of academic obligations. Jury Guidelines for Students
- Students are expected to present themselves in a formally acceptable attire while appearing for the defense session.
- All sheets, presentations or models must follow a predefined format, citing the name of student, year and semester of studio, name of tutor, teaching assistant and other details, as specified by Unit tutors, to enable easy archiving.
- CEPT believes in efficient use of resources and hence, it would be appreciated if materials used for physical model-making are either recycled as far as possible or eco-friendly materials are used.
- Hand-drawings and hand-sketches are appreciated but at the same time, students are expected to stay updated with advanced software and technologies.
